Beer tasting and visit to farm brewery at the foot of Monviso

Every beer tells of a land, but few do so with the sincerity of this agricultural beer born at the foot of Monviso.

In Piasco (CN), at the Kauss Agricultural Brewery, you will discover a story that unites territory and social inclusion, but above all what it means to drink a product that comes directly from the fields surrounding it, including barley, hops and wheat cultivated according to organic farming methods.

An experience of about 2 hours, in the company of the brewmaster, during which you will taste different types of craft beers accompanied by a rich platter of local products!

What we will do

The meeting point is 30 minutes before the indicated time at the Kauss Brewery in Piasco (CN), in the setting of the farmland on the slopes of Monviso. To welcome us in the "Kauss Hous" (i. e. the brewery's taproom) we will find the guide, as well as master brewer, who will accompany us during the visit.

We will start right here, with an initial welcome beer, while we learn about the history of the brewery and the Kauss project: we will be told what it means to be a craft agricultural brewery, how the beer is produced using raw materials grown on the farm, and the social inclusion projects in which it participates.

We will then move to the production area, entering the brewery where we will take part in a real 'journey' through the brewer's typical day: we will discover the various phases of wort preparation, fermentation and everything that happens between field and glass.

Depending on the time of year, we will continue with a walk through the fields adjacent to the brewery, where the barley, hops and wheat that will become beer are grown. Here we will also talk about the choice to cultivate according to organic farming methods, alternating varieties to avoid stressing the soil and allowing it to regenerate naturally.

At the end of the didactic part we will return to the Kauss Haus, where we will sit down for the final tasting: we will taste a total of 3 Kauss craft beers, which will vary according to the season, accompanied by a board of local products, prepared to enhance the flavours of the beer.

The experience will last about 2 hours in total .

Who it is aimed at

The beer tasting is for adults only: for 12-17 year olds there is a participation fee of €10; children under 12 participate free of charge. Teetotal adults can take part in the experience as 'accompanying adults' at a cost of €15.

The experience is accessible to wheelchair users and pushchairs with the exception of the production plant for hygiene reasons.

Other information

The experience takes place throughout the year and is confirmed on reaching a minimum of 2 participants.

Teenagers and accompanying adults who are teetotal will be offered as a non-alcoholic alternative the artisanal gazzosa Gasà produced by the farm.

In the event of food allergies and/or intolerances , you can report your needs directly to the structure at the contact details indicated in the booking confirmation email. Gluten-free beer is available for guests with celiac disease.

Dogs are allowed in the taproom and outdoor areas, provided they are kept on a leash, but are not allowed in the brewery for hygienic reasons.

There is free parking on site for brewery guests. The meeting point can also be reached by public transport.
