Did you know that the coast of Polignano a Mare has more than 60 caves? And you, can you manage to count them all?
Get ready to discover the wonders of the Apulian coastline on a one-and-a-half-hour boat tour, to admire the Grotta Palazzese, the Lama Monachile, the statue of Domenico Modugno, and much more along the way.
You will sail along with other curious travellers, guided by a local skipper... and yes, there is even a toast on board with prosecco and taralli!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the indicated time at the hamlet of San Vito di Polignano a Mare (BA). We will be welcomed by the skipper, ready to take us along this spectacular stretch of the Apulian Adriatic coast.
We will begin our navigation skirting the rocky coastline until we reach the centre of Polignano. We will admire the statue of Domenico Modugno (Polignano's citizen par excellence) high above us, the famous Lama Monachile beach and the cliffs where the spectacular Red Bull Cliff Diving competition takes place.
With the boat we will pass some of Polignano a Mare's most famous caves, including the suggestive Grotta dell'Arcivescovado, the Grotta Palazzese with its restaurant dug out inside, the Grotta dell'Eremita and the Grotta dei Colombi.
There will be a bathing stop of about 20 minutes, followed by a toast on the boat with prosecco and taralli (or soft drink for children).
We will finally return to the starting point. The activity will last a total of 1½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The boat is not wheelchair-accessible, but staff will be able to support any passengers with reduced mobility in boarding.

The activity takes place from March to November and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 participants.
The itinerary and stops may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.
The boat used is a motorboat 8.70 metres long and 2.50 metres wide, equipped with a canopy, bathing ladder and freshwater shower. There are no toilets on board.

Small dogs are allowed on board.
Free and paid parking spaces are available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport, but there are connections by tuk tuk or ape calessino from the centre of Polignano a Mare, about 3 km away.
