Join our motorboat tour in search of cetaceans: you’ll set sail from Savona and cruise through the Pelagos Sanctuary marine protected area, home to various species of cetaceans, including whales and dolphins. All this at sunset, when the setting sun paints the sea in warm hues.
An experience lasting over 3 hours, during which you won’t believe your eyes!
What we will do
Please arrive 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Savona. Once there, we’ll meet the crew, who will welcome us aboard the motor vessel!
Before setting off, we’ll watch a short introductory video on cetology. Once all passengers have boarded, we’ll set sail for the Pelagos Sanctuary: a marine protected area inhabited by various species of cetaceans, designated by Italy, France and the Principality of Monaco to safeguard marine mammals and their habitat.
During the trip, with the help of the on-board guides, we’ll keep a sharp lookout for cetaceans: we might spot common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, striped dolphins, fin whales, sperm whales, pilot whales, long-finned pilot whales and beaked whales. Sightings are conducted in accordance with the international guidelines of ACCOBAMS and the Pelagos Sanctuary: we sail at a controlled speed, always maintaining a suitable distance from the animals and limiting the observation time so as not to interfere with their natural behaviour.
All this takes place at sunset, when the setting sun paints the sea in warm hues, creating an even more magical atmosphere!
We will then return to the meeting point. The experience lasts a total of approximately three and a half hours.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for everyone, with no age restrictions. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The boat is wheelchair accessible: please contact the organiser using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email to let them know if a wheelchair user will be joining the trip.
Other information
Please note! Whale sightings are likely but not guaranteed. If no whales are sighted, you will receive a voucher directly from the organiser, valid for another excursion to be used within one year.
The experience takes place from April to September.
The trip goes ahead regardless of weather and sea conditions, at the captain’s discretion. As the trip takes place some distance from the coast, it is normal to encounter rough or choppy seas.
The vessel is a motorboat equipped with toilets.
We recommend that you take the following precautions: have a light breakfast; avoid dairy products, sweet or heavy foods; if necessary, take seasickness medication approximately 2 hours before departure.
Pets are not permitted on board.
Paid parking is available on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
