Full description
Spend a day of sport and nature on Vulcano. You will have the opportunity to climb the Gran Crater in the company of an expert volcanological guide and admire the island's beauty from the privileged perspective of the sea.
Treat yourself to an unforgettable tour to discover a Mediterranean jewel that will leave you speechless with its colours, hidden coves and characteristic volcanic phenomena.
What we will do
The meeting point is at 9.00 a.m. in front of the Faraglioni bar in Vulcano Porto (ME), where we will meet the expert volcanological guide who will accompany us on the climb up Vulcano's large crater, also known as the 'Vulcano Pit'.
The climb consists of a pleasant walk of about 50 to 60 minutes on a path surrounded by nature, among broom, volcanic boulders and a black, sandy bottom composed mainly of volcanic dust.
Once you reach the top of the volcano, there will be a short 15 to 20-minute stop to admire the breathtaking panorama. Indeed, from the summit of the Gran Cratere it is possible to admire all seven islands of the Aeolian Archipelago, the northern coast of Sicily and Mount Etna in the distance.
After the return walk, we will have the opportunity to independently visit the Sulphurous Mud, the Black Sand beach, or the centre of the island.
We will also make a short stop for lunch with one of the island's specialities, Pani Cunzatu (included).
At 14.00 we will set sail from Vulcano harbour to explore the island from the sea. On the way, it will be possible to admire the island's beautiful coastline, inlets and hidden coves, as well as take a few dives from the boat, at the captain's discretion.
For those interested, there is also the possibility of doing the Boat Tour alone.
The activity has a total duration of about 8 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is open to everyone, with no age limit.
Children from 0 to 3 years can participate free of charge, however we strongly recommend that they report their presence on board after booking.
Other information
Theitinerary may vary depending on weather conditions. The crew will assess the marine weather conditions to provide the best possible experience.
Children from 0 to 3 years old can participate by paying the reduced fee of €10.
Animals, bicycles and scooters cannot be brought on board. Furthermore, no take-away food or drinks are allowed on the boat.
