Full description
Have you ever dreamed of leaving behind the daily hustle and bustle to embraceadventure in nature?
Join us for abushcraft experience in Cerveteri, where nature becomes your guide and technology ... well, who remembers?
From morning till nightfall, instructors will teach you the secrets of living in a natural environment, from how to identify edible plants and medicinal herbs to how to build a shelter with your own hands. And again: you will try bushcraft cooking, using the 'dutch oven' and other traditional methods.
What we will do
The meeting point is the bushcraft camp in Cerveteri (RM), at 9:00 am. The camp, the first in Italy open all year round, is located in an enchanting setting, which will also allow us to explore the wonderful Cerveteri Waterfalls.
Upon arrival, we will immediately hold an introductory briefing to get a taste of what we will experience during the day. We will practise fundamental bushcraft techniques, starting from the use of tools (knives, axes, etc.) to the construction of an emergency shelter. We will learn how to recognise nature's signals and how to take advantage of everything the environment offers us.
Over the course of the day, we will look in detail at:
- Introduction to tools: the safe and correct use of knives, axes and other essential bushcraft tools.
- Woodworking: practical methods for cutting, carving and assembling wood, creating useful tools and structures.
- Shelter construction: how to build a safe and cosy shelter from natural materials.
- Practical botany: identification of medicinal herbs and edible plants, enriching your knowledge on the use of natural resources.
- Fire lighting and management techniques: practical tips for lighting and maintaining a fire for both heating and cooking.
- Orientationin nature: basics of navigation and orientation, fundamental for every adventurer.
- Food processing and storage: natural methods for preparing and storing food in outdoor environments.
- Survival skills: an introduction to basic survival techniques, to make you feel comfortable in the wilderness.
We will also have the opportunity to enjoy a special lunch with typical lumberjack dishes, prepared on site using 'dutch oven' methods.
The activity will end at around 17:00, for a total of 8 hours of experience.
