Full description
Climb aboard a canoe and set off on an adventure sailing down theAdige River. Discover a land rich in history and nature and spend a few hours of fun and relaxation in the open air.
You will set off from the Chiusa di Ceraino, not far from Verona, and paddle after paddle through the Terra dei Forti, so called because of the numerous Austro-Hungarian fortresses scattered throughout the area and also visible from the river.
Our expert guides will teach you the best techniques for canoeing and provide you with all the support you need to enjoy the experience to the full.
What we will do
We will meet at the outdoor centre in Bussolengo, in the province of Verona. The guides will give us thenecessary equipment and then, all together, we will move by shuttle bus to the boarding point at the Chiusa di Ceraino. This is one of the most evocative places in the Adige Valley, where the river flows narrow between high rock walls.
Before entering the water, we will have a lesson on paddling techniques and safety rules. Then, having donned our life jackets, we will begin to navigate along the bends of theAdige. We will cover a fairly calm stretch, without encountering any particular difficulties, so that the descent can be enjoyed and experienced by all in total serenity.
We will sail for about 12 km and along the way, it will be possible to admire splendid views from the river, characterised by the presence of vineyards and defence constructions from the Austro-Hungarian era. The guides, in addition to providing for our safety, will entertain us with stories and curiosities about the area.
In total, the activity will last about 3 hours, including transfers, briefings and preparation, while navigation is about 1.5 hours. Back at the base, we can use the showers and changing rooms and spend some time relaxing in thegreen area.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is suitable for everyone from 8 years old and up. No experience is required.
Other information
This activity can be carried out from April to October and is confirmed upon reaching 4 participants.
The excursion is also carried out in the event of rain, provided that the water conditions do not jeopardise the safety of the participants.
Children will travel in a two-seater canoe together with a parent. The other participants, depending on experience and preference, will be able to choose a one- or two-seater canoe depending on availability.
