Embark on an exciting adventure with a canyoning route at Fosso di Riancoli, a place full of natural surprises on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo.
The Riancoli canyon is the perfect route for those who want to discover this fun water sport and move between water and rock in an uncontaminated and incredibly suggestive environment.
You will dive into crystal-clear pools, slide on toboggans, abseil next to waterfalls, and it will be a rollercoaster of emotions and adrenaline!
What we will do
We will meet the guides in the car park just outside the Carsoli motorway exit on theA24 Rome-L'Aquila motorway and together we will reach the entrance to the Riancoli canyon, in the municipality of Collalto Sabino (RI).
Before setting off on our adventure, we will have a briefing on progression techniques and safety rules. We will then don our wetsuit and helmet and be ready to set off along the course of the torrent. After a quiet first section, the fun begins!
We will encounter crystal-clear pools to swim through, waterfalls, rocks to dive off of, walls to tackle with the aid of a rope, water corridors, deep gorges and toboggans, the natural slides carved out by the flow of the torrent.
Along the way, guides will always be at our side to give us the necessary support. The obstacles do not present any particular technical difficulties and are also suitable for beginners. The route is 2 km long and takes about three hours to complete.
On leaving the canyon, it will take about 10 minutes to walk back to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an easy level and is open from the age of 15. No previous experience is required and it is not compulsory to know how to swim, but a good aquatic ability is necessary.
Other information
This activity can be carried out on weekends from April to July, subject to the availability of guides and the hydrometric conditions of the stream.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
