Full description
Get ready for an adventure among rock-carved gorges, natural slides and spectacular rappels!
Canyoning in the Rio Ciolesan, in the heart of the Friulian Dolomites Park, is an adrenalin-pumping experience immersed in a wild and unspoilt environment. You will follow the watercourse between crystal-clear pools and majestic walls, facing rope descents and thrilling dives .
Spend 5 hours of strong emotions in the company of an UIAGM Alpine Guide who will accompany you on this adventure!
What we will do
We will meet in Claut (PN) at 9:30 a.m., from where we will move with the guide 's car and that of some participants to the village of Lesis, 5 minutes away. From here we will begin ahike of about one hour, with a difference in altitude of 300 metres, to reach theentrance to the canyon.
Once there, we will don the necessary equipment and, after a safety briefing, we will plunge into the heart of the Rio Ciolesan. We will walk about 1.4 km inside the gorge, crossing a succession of clear pools, small jumps and limestone walls shaped by water over millennia, for a height difference of 270 metres.
Along the way we will face some 20 obstacles, including natural slides and rope descents, the highest of which reaches 25 metres. Dives will not be obligatory: those who prefer can always be safely lowered with a harness. One of the most adrenaline-pumping moments will be a 4-5 metre jump for those who wish to test themselves.
The first part of the descent will be relatively open, while as we advance the canyon will become narrower and more spectacular, offering breathtaking views of deep gorges and plays of light created by water reflections. After about 4 hours and 40 minutes of pure adventure, we will reach the end of the canyon. From here, with a walk of about 20 minutes, we will return to the cars, concluding our experience.
The total duration of the activity, including transfers and briefing, will be 5 hours.
