Full description
All roads lead to Rome, but with a small one-hour diversions, you can reach another place of unique and wild beauty: the Forra dell'Aquila.
In the land of the last Roman eagles, you can try your hand at a5-hour canyoning experience amid unspoilt nature and crystal-clear waters.
Accompanied by an expert guide, you will challenge the torrent and its waterfalls, awakening your soul as a true explorer!
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point at the time agreed at the time of booking in Vicovaro (RM).
Our guide will be waiting for us. We will follow her, after a drive of about 10 minutes, to the entrance of the canyon. After a short dirt stretch, we will arrive at the car park where we will be given ourcanyoning equipment.
We will then begin a gentle ascent into the canyon lasting about 30 minutes, at the end of which we will begin dressing, having now arrived at the entrance point. We will put on our wetsuit, helmet and harness, attend a briefing on safety rules and progression techniques, and be ready to begin our adventure.
We will enter directly into the canyon, characterised by five to six waterfalls of 20 to 25 metres in height each. Each waterfall will be a challenging obstacle to overcome, abseiling under the guide's supervision or letting ourselves abseil if necessary. We will explore the clear waters of the stream together, crossing the impressive rocky gorges and immersing ourselves in the beauty of the surrounding nature.
To reach the first high waterfall, we will cross a forked section and pass under the waterfall's jet of water. The main difficulty in this section will be being able to laugh our way down without drinking too much water!
The development of the canyon is about 400 metres. Once out, we will be back at the starting point in a few minutes' walk after a hike lasting a total of five hours.
