Canyoning experience at Fosso della Mola

Take part in anexciting adventure by canyoning in the Fosso della Mola, a canyon hidden in the hills of the Salto Valley.

You will find yourself in a real natural water park made of rocks and water, immersed in a fairytale forest where ferns and soft mosses frame the canyon.

A simple, dynamic and fun trail where you can abseil alongside waterfalls and dive into pools of crystal-clear water, as well as enter suggestive underground passages. Get ready for adventure!

What we will do

The meeting will be in Grotti, in the province of Rieti at 9.30 am. We will welcome you and when we are all there, we will pick up the cars and in five minutes we will reach the entrance to the canyon. Here we will have a short briefing on the safety rules to be adopted.

Then we will walk for about 20-25 minutes uphill to reach the canyon entrance where we will proceed with dressing up, while we will explain how to use the equipment we will provide you with.

When we are ready we will begin our adventure: we will walk down a small meander that will lead us to the stream. We will enter the water and after a few metres we will already encounter a small abseil of 2-3 metres.

Continuing on foot, a somewhat more demanding but truly adrenalin-pumping abseil awaits us: we will descend 8 metres under a suggestive waterfall, accompanied by the sound of the water rushing down.

The section following the waterfall will be very beautiful, characterised by small rappels and dives from low heights. Obstacles will lead us to a fairly wide section with a semi-subterranean passage. We will go deeper and arrive at a new abseil of 8 m.

We will continue walking through the water and, after another small abseil, we will arrive at the third major obstacle: a hypogeous passage where the river creeps between the rocks.

Once out of the stream, a walk of about 10 minutes will await us, leading us back to the cars.

The experience lasts a total of about 5 hours, including briefings and transfers. We will therefore finish at around 14:30.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is also suitable for beginners from the age of 14. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

You must be in good health and have good mobility.

Other information

The experience takes place from April to July on the dates indicated in the calendar and is confirmed when there are at least 5 participants. If your group consists of at least 5 people and you would like to do the experience on a different date, please contact us privately and we will do our best to meet your needs.

After confirming your booking, you will need to contact your guide to inform him/her of your weight, height and shoe size.

Themeeting time may vary slightly to allow for the best time in the morning; the guide will contact you if the time differs from the one communicated in the booking confirmation e-mail.

Valuables can be stored in a watertight bin that we will carry with us during the experience.

Recommended clothing

• Swimwear (men are advised to wear briefs)
• Wet trainers with a sculpted sole
