Full description
Experience an unforgettable adventure with canyoning at Fosso di Roccaranieri, a few kilometres from Rieti.
Canyoning allows you to discover normally inaccessible places, where wild nature offers a thousand opportunities to amaze us with its suggestive scenarios. On the 3-hour route, you will venture into a stupendous canyon among slides carved into the rock, pools of crystal-clear water and waterfalls up to 27 metres high.
Accompanied by experienced guides, you will safely explore this magnificent canyon, which makes the activity accessible to both beginners and experienced enthusiasts.
What we will do
We will meet up with the guide and the rest of the group at 10 a.m. in Longone Sabino (RI). We will be given all the necessary equipment and after a 20-minute walk we will be at the beginning of the canyon.
Once we arrive in a clearing in the woods, it will be time to put on our wetsuits, helmets and harnesses and have a nice briefing to explain the basic techniques and safety rules that will allow you to proceed into the canyon in complete safety.
We will immediately begin to familiarise ourselves with the stream with the highest and most spectacular waterfall, which at 27 metres will give us our first strong emotion. From here on, it will be a succession of clear water pools, slides and other marvellous waterfalls of various heights, which create spectacular shapes and water games.
We will be fascinated by the incredible paths that the water has carved in the rock, by the vegetation so intense and lush that it almost seems as if we are in a tropical forest.
Between a toboggan and a rope descent we will have reached the end of our itinerary, right where the Roccaranieri ditch flows into the Salto river. One last refreshing dip before we reach the meeting point, having spent about five hours together.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is of an easy level and is practicable for everyone, from 11 years of age and with a maximum weight limit of 120 kg.
It is not necessary to know how to swim, but there are a few small passages in deep water where you don't touch, but the wetsuit and guides will help you get through them easily if necessary.
Other information
Activities are possible in the period from April to October and are confirmed with a minimum of 4 people.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
Dogs are not allowed during the experience.
