Full description
Put on your harness and helmet and enjoy a 3-hour canyoning experience in the Froda torrent in the province of Varese. After a briefing with the guide to learn safety manoeuvres and progression techniques, you'll be ready for a 700-metre canyoning trip in the water.
The torrent is very varied, but presents no particular difficulty. You will face a whole series of rappels and in some sections you will even be able to admire Lake Maggiore in the distance.
The route includes several toboggans, i.e. natural slides created by the smoothing of the water on the rock. In short, fun is guaranteed!
What we will do
We will meet in Porto Valtravaglia (VA), at the meeting point indicated in the booking confirmation. Before starting the activity, we will get dressed and have a short briefing to better discover this adrenalin-pumping activity, which allows you to traverse mountain torrents by combining trekking with some mountaineering techniques.
During the briefing we will learn the indispensable safety manoeuvres and the main progression techniques. After this introductory phase lasting about 15 minutes, we will reach the Froda torrent on foot with a very short walk. We will then arrive at the start of our 700-metre-long route with a difference in altitude of 100 metres.
Our route is simple and not particularly vertical, but it will give us great satisfaction because it has fun chutes and rappels. After an initial forked section, we will face a succession of rappels and 2 slides. What are they? Stream rocks smoothed by the incessant work of the water until they become real natural slides.
Not only that, during the route in some sections we will be able to glimpse Lake Maggiore. In the final part we will face the last exciting abseil and a long toboggan to slide down. Once out of the stream, we will walk along a path for about ten minutes and return to the initial starting point.
The total duration, including approach, briefing and exit, is approximately 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from 8 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult; alternatively, it is possible to participate with a release form signed by the parent.
No previous experience is required, but participants must have good water skills and not be afraid of heights.

The activity runs from June to September, every day, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
