Canyoning Rio Lerca in the province of Genoa

If you are looking for anexciting adventure and want to spend half a day in close contact with nature exploring unspoilt environments between water and rock, canyoning is for you!

Together with an expert guide, you will descend along the course of the Rio Lerca, a stream flowing in the Beigua Natural Park, between the mountains and seas of Liguria.

Get ready to abseil along waterfalls and rock walls, dive into crystal-clear pools and let yourself go on toboggans, the natural slides carved by the flow of water.

This and much more for themost fun river activity there is, on an exciting course for young and old, suitable also for beginners.

What we will do

We will meet at 9:00 a.m. at Case Soprane, in Arenzano (GE). First, the guide will provide us with the necessarytechnical equipment and help us get dressed. After that we will have a briefing on the safety rules and progression techniques that we will use along the route. When we are ready, we will head towards the stream via a steep and sunny path that will take about 40 minutes of walking.

Once on the Rio Lerca, the exertions of the walk will be repaid by the unspoilt, fascinating and wild natural landscape that we will find before our eyes. We will begin to descend along its course, walking on rocky boulders or within the stream's flow, until we encounter enchanting crystal-clear pools in which to dive and enjoy the freshness and purity of the emerald waters.

We will encounter deep gorges, rock walls and waterfalls to cross with the aid of a rope and we will let ourselves go on toboggans, the natural slides created by the erosion caused by the incessant flow of water over rocks.

The guide will always be at our side to give us assistance and support and to push us to overcome all the obstacles we encounter in the safest and most enjoyable way (there will still be the possibility of going around them by an easier route).

The route on the Rio Lerca takes between 3 and 4 hours, depending on the number and level of participants. The activity has a total duration of about 5 hours and ends with the return to the starting point.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an easy level and is open to all, aged 12 and above. No previous experience is necessary and it is not mandatory to know how to swim (a life jacket will be provided on request). It is sufficient to be in good health and have good aquatic skills.

Canyoning requires some physical effort. If you are over 65 years old, please contact your guide to make sure you can do the activity.

Other information

Attention! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the departure time.

This activity takes place from June to October and is confirmed with a minimum of 6 people . If you are alone or do not reach the minimum number, please contact us privately to find out which dates have already been confirmed.

You cannot wear rings during the activity and, if you wear glasses, you will have to fix them so that you do not lose them. It would be better to wear contact lenses.

Itis not permitted to wear rock shoes or rock climbing shoes. Hiking, running or classic trainers are permitted. Alternatively, suitable shoes can be hired on site at a cost of €10.

Recommended clothing

• Thermal jersey (optional)
• Sneakers/trekking shoes to get wet (no rock or rock shoes)
