Experience the thrills of canyoning and venture into the Riancoli gorge in the Monti Navegna and Cervia Nature Reserve on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo. Here runs a seemingly tranquil torrent...
As you walk through the rocky gorges , you will realise that the river is actually alive and bubbling, full of small waterfalls, natural slides and breathtaking routes that will allow you to be in close contact with nature.
You will dive into crystal-clear pools, slide on toboggans and abseil next to the waterfalls of the Riancoli canyon. A perfect mix of adrenaline and fun!
What we will do
The meeting point is set at Bar Casabianca in Carsoli (AQ ) at 10:00 am. Here we will meet our guide, who will provide us with the necessary equipment and lead us to the entrance of the canyon located in the municipality of Collalto Sabino (RI), with an approximately 30-minute walk. Here he will conduct a briefing on progression techniques and safety rules. Then, having donned wetsuit and helmet, we will be ready to set off.
At the beginning, the torrent appears calm and will allow us to become familiar with theriver environment, after which the real fun will begin with dips in the crystal-clear water pools and slides on the toboggans.
As we progress along the route, the walls of the gorge become more and more vertical and the water becomes more and more lively and bubbly. We can then abseil down the falls securely secured by a rope. A truly adrenalin-fuelled and fun experience that will culminate at the top of the approximately 12-metre high waterfall.
Along the way, the guide will be at our side to provide us with all the necessary support and make us experience the adventure in total safety. On leaving the canyon, it will take about 10 minutes on foot to return to the starting point. The activity has a total duration of about 3 hours for a 2 km-long route.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is of medium difficulty, but is also suitable for first-time canyoneers, the important thing is to be able to swim. You can participate from 14 to 65 years of age.
Other information
The activity can be carried out every day from April to September, subject to weather and hydrometric conditions, and is confirmed when there are at least 4 participants.
Dogs are not allowed during the experience.
