Canyoning Rio Santa Lucia in the province of Imperia

Set off on a canyoning route on the Rio Santa Lucia, in the Ligurian hinterland in the province of Imperia, and discover unexpected and wild corners of nature that will make you feel like a true adventurer.

Space for excitement and adrenalin with dives into pools of crystal-clear water, natural slides, abseiling, deep gorges, rock walls and waterfalls: a natural water park to be traversed amid splashing and fun with an expert guide.

Canyoning is a playful activity that will thrill the little ones and turn adults into children again in an unforgettable half-day!

What we will do

We will meet at 9 a.m. in Pieve di Teco, in the province of Imperia. First the guide will hand over thetechnical equipment, help us get dressed, and give us all the instructions for carrying out the activity safely. Then, with a shuttle transfer of about 5 minutes, we will reach the starting point of thecanyoning itinerary on Rio Santa Lucia.

We will enter the bed of the stream and begin to descend along its course, walking between water and rock and overcoming the natural obstacles that we will encounter along the way: drops of up to 9 metres from which to plunge into marvellous pools of crystal-clear water; rock slides on which to let yourself be carried away by the current; gorges, walls and waterfalls from which to descend with the aid of a rope.

The route on the Rio Santa Lucia alternates between "forked" stretches, i.e. closed in between deep gorges, and more open and airy stretches and is also suitable for those who have never canyoned before. With thehelp of the guide, we will be able to cross even the most difficult points with fun and, if necessary, there will always be a way around the obstacles by taking an easier route.

The itinerary takes between 3 and 4 hours, depending on the number and level of participants. The activity has a total duration of about 5 hours and ends with the return to the meeting point.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone from 10 years old and up. No previous experience is necessary and it is not obligatory to know how to swim (a life jacket will be provided on request). You only need to be in good health and have good aquatic skills.

Canyoning requires some physical effort. If you are over 65 years of age, contact your guide to make sure you can do the activity.

Attention! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the departure time.

This activity is bookable from May to September and is confirmed when a minimum of 6 participants are reached. If you are alone or do not reach the minimum number, please contact us privately to find out which dates have already been confirmed.

You cannot wear rings during the activity and, if you wear glasses, you will have to fix them so that you do not lose them. It would be better to wear contact lenses.

Itis not permitted to wear rock shoes or rock climbing shoes. Hiking, running or classic trainers are permitted. Alternatively, suitable shoes can be hired on site at a cost of €10.

Recommended clothing

• Sneakers/trekking shoes to get wet (no rock or rock shoes)
