Beneath a quiet village inAspromonte lies a canyon that looks like something out of an adventure film.
It is the Torrente Piminoro, a geological surprise just a few steps from civilisation. Rocky walls sculpted in time, vertiginous waterfalls, clear pools and a thrilling finale with a 40-metre descent.
This is what awaits you in this canyoning experience: 3 hours of pure adrenaline, guided step by step in a canyon where no one would expect to find a hidden paradise.
What we will do
The meeting with the guide is at 9.00 a.m. in Gioia Tauro (Reggio Calabria), on the Tyrrhenian side of the Aspromonte National Park. After introductions, we will begin a walk of about 30 minutes along a panoramic path that will lead us straight to the base of the first waterfall of the Orrido di Piminoro.
We will put on theequipment provided by the guide - helmet, wetsuit, harness - and, after a short briefing, we will be ready to enter the canyon. This is how our adventure begins: a journey among nine waterfalls, dives, slides and rope descents.
We will cross gorges carved out of the rock, turquoise pools and natural slides, until we reach the most spectacular part: the big final waterfall. A drop of about 40 metres, surrounded by walls sculpted by time and a large pool of water where we can relax or take memorable photos.
The route is about 1 km and has an altitude difference of 265 metres, which we will tackle progressively and safely. Finally, with another 30-minute walk, we will return to the starting point.
Between briefing, dressing and the route, the whole experience takes about 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is of medium level and suitable for ages 18 and up. Swimming skills are required to participate.
Other information
The experience can be booked every day from May to September and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.
The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport.
There are no showers, toilets or changing rooms on site; it is required to arrive already wearing a swimming costume, thermal shirt (optional) and wet sneakers

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
