Learn how to shape wood with this one-day carving and pyrography course in Padenghe sul Garda.
Thanks to experienced instructors , you will discover the techniques of this art form and return home with two handcrafted objects of your own creation!
What we will do
The appointment is at 10: 00 a. m. at the meeting point in Padenghe sul Garda (BS), in a cosy facility surrounded by greenery and a stone's throw from Lake Garda.
We will begin with a theoretical introduction to familiarise ourselves with materials and tools. We will learn to distinguish plants and types of wood and to understand the differences in density, grain and resistance, which are fundamental for choosing the most suitable material according to the object to be made.
We will then get to the heart of woodworking, tackling all the preparation and treatment phases: we will talk about seasoning, sanding and protection, all steps that serve to obtain durable, resistant and aesthetically pleasing products.
The first half of the day will be dedicated to carving a wooden spoon. We will use a bushcraft knife and hook knife, focusing on correct posture, controlled cutting techniques and the use of protective tools such as gloves and vises.
After a packed lunch break, we will move on to the second part of the course: pyrography. We will begin with the preparatory drawing, necessary for planning lines, shadows and details. We will then learn how to use the pyrograph and each person will make their own pyrographed picture.
Throughout the day there will be a snack area with handmade biscuits and natural infusions. The activity will take place mainly indoors, with possible short technical moments outdoors, and will end at around 16: 30.
The total duration is 6 hours and 30 minutes.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for 14-year-olds and up. Minors can participate on their own by submitting a consent form signed by their parent.
The course is at a basic level, designed for those approaching carving and pyrography for the first time.

The activity takes place on the dates indicated in the calendar (continuously updated) and is confirmed on reaching a minimum of 6 participants.
It is possible to report food allergies or intolerances by filling in the form you will receive from the organiser before the activity.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
