Full description
The Gulf of Policastro, from up here, you've never seen it.
And when we say 'from up here', we mean climbing a cliff 20 metres high! To do this, all you have to do is attend our climbing day in Maratea in the company of an IAMAS climbing instructor who will pass on all his expertise and passion for this sport.
What we will do
We’ll meet 15 minutes before 9. 00 am at the meeting point in Maratea (PZ), where we’ll meet the climbing instructor!
Once we’re all together, we’ll organise carpooling to minimise the number of cars used. After a short journey of about 5 minutes, we’ll arrive at the start of the path and continue on foot through the woodland: a slightly steep walk of about 10 minutes that will take us straight to the San Biagio crag.
Once we’ve reached the crag, we’ll listen to the guide’s briefing, collect our kit and receive all the instructions we need to climb safely. We’ll have routes of varying difficulty to choose from, up to 20 metres high and taking 5–20 minutes to complete. We’ll climb, abseil down and have another go: with the instructor’s guidance, we’ll be able to tackle increasingly challenging routes!
Between climbs, we’ll take a break to catch our breath and nibble on snacks we’ve brought from home, whilst enjoying the view over the Gulf of Policastro, Mount Bulgheria and Punta Infreschi.
At the end of the activities, we’ll all head back together to the original meeting point. The experience will last a total of around 5 hours, from 9. 00 am to 2. 00 pm.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is suitable for children aged 6 and over; those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
This activity is not recommended for people with heart conditions or shoulder injuries.
The activity is easy and is also suitable for first-time climbers.

Please note! This activity requires you to arrange your own transport.
The experience is available from February to October and is confirmed once the minimum number of 3 participants has been reached.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport; if necessary, you can travel to Maratea railway station and request the free shuttle service by contacting the organiser using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
