There are those who like elegant rooms, with the tables all set in white. And then there are us, who go into raptures over a tablecloth laid among the vineyards!
An experiential stay that smells of simple things awaits you in San Gimignano: a night in a farmhouse with breakfast and a picnic for two with a bottle of wine and Tuscan specialities.
A romantic getaway different from the usual, to be enjoyed one toast after another!
What we will do
Check-in is from 14: 30 to 19: 00 at the Palagettofarm in San Gimignano (SI) . The property is located a stone's throw from the towered city, among the hills and vineyards of Tuscany.
You will stay in a double room furnished in rural Tuscan style: each room is different from the others in colour and furnishings and is named after a vine. The room has a private en-suite bathroom, complete with shower or bath, toilet, washbasin, bidet, towels, courtesy kit and hairdryer. You will also find air conditioning, heating, free Wi-Fi and satellite TV.
During warm weather, you can relax in the property's panoramic swimming pool , surrounded by greenery. For dinner, the property has an in-house restaurant open only in the evenings, serving typical Tuscan dishes prepared according to the seasonality of produce. Dinner is not included and can be chosen from a set menu or à la carte and paid for directly on site. In the morning, a sweet and savoury breakfast buffet (included) awaits you, served in the restaurant room.
Your stay will also include a picnic amidst the vineyards surrounding the farmhouse or the nearby wine cellar: you can enjoy this experience on the day of your arrival or departure, agreeing this directly with the establishment. You can choose a bottle of wine from among Vernaccia, Chianti or rosé produced by the winery, to accompany the products you will find in your basket: Tuscan cold meats and cheeses, pappa al pomodoro, a cold first course (proposals may vary depending on the season) and a bottle of water.
With your basket in hand, you can go to one of the recommended vantage points, among the rows of vines with a view of the towers of San Gimignano, or you can freely choose your favourite spot among the vines. In the basket you will find everything you need: tablecloth, glasses, cutlery and cloth to lay on the grass. The experience will last approximately 1½ to 2 hours.
Check-out is between 9: 00 and 10: 30.

The experience is available from April to October. Check-in is between 14: 30 and 19: 00, check-out between 9: 00 and 10: 30.

For the delivery of the picnic basket, a deposit of 20€ in cash is required, which will be returned at the end of the activity.
Dogs are allowed with an extra charge of 15€ to be paid on site.
The tourist tax of 2. 50€ per person, payable locally in cash, is not included in the fee.
The facility is not easily accessible by public transport; free parking is available on site.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
