Full description
Take your first steps into the world of sailing! A half-day introductory course on the Latium coastline awaits you.
Starting from the Port of Rome, you will learn all the techniques and manoeuvres for sailing at sea, guided by an experienced instructor. Learn about winds, nomenclature, and gaits to best move your boat.
And if at the end of the day you would like to learn even more, you can always choose a complete course to become an expert sailor!
What we will do
We will meet at the port of Ostia (Rome), at the time indicated in the booking. After getting acquainted with our skipper and all the participants, we will begin our navigation.
In the first part of the lesson, leaving the harbour, we will sail along the Latium coastline doing some initial tacking tests, following the direction of the wind. The second part of the course, on the other hand, will take us to reverse course to discover the technique of tacking (with the wind behind us).
Sailing on the waves, throughout the lesson, we will learn not only the main navigation techniques, but also the names of the gaits, the wind rose and nomenclature.
We will return to the port of departure after a four-hour excursion.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is recommended from the age of 10. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Not accessible by wheelchair and for persons with mobility impairments.
Other information
The activity takes place all year round, every day, weather permitting, and is confirmed with a minimum of 6 participants.
The meeting place is easily accessible by public transport.
During the course you will sail aboard the Sun Fast 37, an 11.40-metre boat. Dogs are not allowed on board.

If you have made a fixed-date booking and the weather conditions are not suitable for safely carrying out the activity (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be fully refunded. The guide may offer you an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to accept or decline these proposals. If you cannot reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
