Full description

Two days to learn how to get by in the wild with little means, a lot of fortitude and a great spirit of adaptation.

With our survival and bushcraft course at La Piana, a few km from Modena, you will have the opportunity to test yourself in a unique natural setting, sharing this great adventure with other free spirits ready to lend you a hand.

You will discover how for millennia man has managed to survive the force of nature and the elements. You will use brushcraft techniques to eat and take part in a fabulous evening hike, guided only by the stars and your sense of direction.

When you return on Sunday you will see modern life through different eyes, returning home with a new perception of your possibilities and the world around you.

What we will do

We will meet on Friday evening at 19:00 at the Baita dei Cinghiali, our base near the woods of Monte Cimone. We will spend the evening having dinner and taking a first fundamental stock of the situation and the equipment available. Everyone in their bunks because the next morning breakfast will be at 8am.

We will then begin the first part of the course by looking together at the notions of orientation techniques, i.e. the use of the map and compass. On our way to base camp, we will put into practice what we have learned about using the tools to orient ourselves in nature. The instructors will also teach us to recognise some plants that are easily found in nature.

After a well-deserved snack, we will once again learn about emergency psychology, knots and above all how to find the right shelter when there is only wilderness around us. Towards dinnertime, we will then light the fire and learn brushcraft techniques to best manage this precious element.

When the stars are high in the sky, we will prepare for ahike in the woods guided only by the firmament and our sense of direction before returning to base camp and sleeping in the huts we have built before dinner!

Sunday is also a day full of unmissable events and many things to learn! After restoring the fire and a well-deserved breakfast, it will be time to practice knots and tying and we will also learn the basic techniques of water purification.

The day will also include an in-depth look at environmental education and a moment dedicated to creating a survival and first aid kit.

Finally, we will return to the hut to receive our certificates, but above all for a buffet snack to close this weekend of nature and great emotions.
