One-day boat excursion to Asinara with lunch

Discover the unspoilt sea and beautiful coves ofAsinara on board a motor boat. You will have a guide at your disposal who will give you lots of interesting information about the island and themarine protected area surrounding it.

There will be 3-4 swimming stops with the possibility of snorkelling and admiring the seabed rich in fish. The area in front of Asinara is part of the Marine Mammal Sanctuary and you are likely to experience the thrill of spotting dolphins leaping in the waves.

During the8-hour excursion, you will enjoy a typical Sardinian lunch with cheese, salami and malloreddus and you will have the opportunity to disembark on the island and make friends with the typical white donkeys that have made Asinara famous.

What we will do

The meeting is set for 9.30 am in Stintino. Here the skipper and guide will be waiting for us, who will accompany us on a discovery tour of theisland of Asinara.

During the excursion, the guide will tell us many interesting facts and details about the island, its historic prison built in 1885, and the marine protected area that surrounds it.

Famous for its white donkeys, the island will amaze us with its wild and unspoilt beauty and will also provide us with a very exciting surprise: adolphin sighting. The marine protected area of Asinara, in fact, is part of the so-called Marine Mammal Sanctuary and sightings are very frequent. There is, therefore, a very high probability of immortalising these magnificent cetaceans with our smartphones!

The excursion will include 3-4 swimming stops in the crystal-clear sea of Asinara, with the possibility of wearing a mask and admiring the starfish, coloured anemones and other species that populate the seabed.

Depending on the weather and sea conditions, we will stop in three or four of the island's extraordinary coves. And the choice is really wide, from Spalmatore to Cala dei Graniti, from Secca del Cavallo to Cala Marcutza, from Cala Barche Napoletane to Cala del Bianco, all the way to Porto Mannu di Fornelli.

Back on board, we will enjoy our typical lunch with tasty Sardinian specialities. The menu includes an appetiser with cold meats and cheeses and a first course of malloreddus alla campidanese; everything will be accompanied by water and Vermentino wine.

After lunch, the boat will dock at Asinara to allow us to disembark on the island and take a short excursion lasting about an hour. Depending on the weather and sea conditions, the skipper will decide whether to land in Cala Reale, Cala d'Oliva or Fornelli.

At the end of the walking tour, we will re-board and return to the port of Stintino at around 17:30. The activity has a total duration of 8 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children under 1 year old participate free of charge: notify the skipper of their presence on board after booking confirmation.

The boat is not wheelchair-accessible.

Other information

The excursion is available daily from May to October and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 4 participants.

The boat intended for the tour is 10 metres long and is a modern motor boat with a wooden hull built in 2019. At the stern, it is equipped with a large awning and sofas in which to sit and enjoy the excursion in comfort, while at the bow it is equipped with a sunbathing couch, a small beach for diving and a freshwater shower. The boat is completed by a galley, a cabin and a toilet. A 3-seater kayak and snorkelling masks are available on board.

In case of food intolerances and allergies (including celiac disease) please inform the staff after booking confirmation so that changes can be made to the lunch menu.

Dogs are not allowed on board.
