Did you know that even Lord Byron loved to sail these waters in search of inspiration? Get ready to discover why as you step aboard an elegant catamaran to explore the Gulf of Poets!
On this 6-hour excursion, you’ll admire stunning sights such as Portovenere and the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto, whilst listening to stories from an experienced crew.
Between unforgettable dips and the salty sea air, you’ll also enjoy a full lunch whilst being gently rocked by the waves!
What we will do
We’ll meet 30 minutes before the scheduled time at the meeting point in La Spezia (SP). The crew will be there to welcome us and take us on our catamaran excursion.
Once we’ve boarded and stowed our footwear, we’ll set sail from the harbour to venture into the heart of the Gulf of Poets. If the weather and sea conditions are ideal, we’ll set course for Portovenere and discover the enchanting silhouettes of the archipelago comprising Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto. Alternatively, we’ll sail along the more sheltered stretches of the Ligurian coast.
During the journey, the crew will share anecdotes and interesting facts about the places we pass. We’ll have the chance to stop twice for a swim in coves that are inaccessible from land. We can take a dip, explore the seabed using the snorkelling equipment provided on board, or simply relax on the sun loungers on the upper deck.
At lunchtime, we’ll be served a generous packed lunch. The menu for adults includes: trofie with pesto, Ligurian focaccia, vegetable tart, caprese salad, cheeses, cold cuts and fruit salad. For the little ones, there’s a special menu featuring pasta with tomato sauce, mini pizzas and chips. The on-board bar will be available throughout for any extras.
After enjoying the last spectacular views from the sea, we’ll return to the port of departure. The trip will last approximately 6 hours in total .
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for everyone; those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult on board. Children aged 0 to 2 travel free of charge.
The boat is not wheelchair accessible.

The trip takes place from April to October and is confirmed once the minimum number of 10 participants has been reached.
The itinerary may vary depending on weather and sea conditions, at the captain’s discretion.
The vessel is an Alegria catamaran featuring spacious interiors, an upper deck with panoramic sun loungers (double or triple) , relaxation and sunbathing areas, an on-board bar and toilet facilities.
Alternatives are available for those with food allergies, intolerances or vegetarian diets: please contact the organisers in advance of your booking date using the contact details provided in your confirmation email to submit your request.
It is forbidden to bring alcohol, food or drinks from outside onto the boat, to smoke (e-cigarettes are permitted) or to use drones. Dogs are not allowed on board.
Free and paid parking is available on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport: La Spezia Centrale station is about a 25-minute walk away, and the ATC bus stops at Piazza Europa are about 5 minutes’ walk away.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
