With the trekking tour in the Land of the Deer you can enjoy an exciting experience in the heart of the Abruzzo National Park. Admiring deer in their natural habitat is a unique adventure for young and old alike.
You can walk through the 'Mysterious Forest', an evocative place where several tributaries of the Sangro River can be found, to reach Villetta Barrea, the deer village on the banks of the same river. Here deer graze undisturbed, making this unspoilt scenery even more beautiful. We are waiting for you!
What we will do
We will meet with the guide in Villetta Barrea (AQ), at the time selected during the booking process. After gathering the group and holding a briefing on the route, we will be ready to set off.
We will discover the wonders of the Abruzzo National Park. We will walk through the "Mysterious Forest", an evocative place perfect for telling tales and legends whose protagonists are goblins, fairies, witches and ghosts.
We will continue on to Villetta Barrea, a charming village along the banks of the Sangro river. Here, with a bit of luck, we will be able to observe one of the main protagonists of the Apennine fauna: the deer. These enchanting animals live undisturbed and in freedom in this corner of paradise.
The2 km itinerary with 50 metres of altitude difference is simple and suitable for everyone. The excursion will last a total of 2 hours.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
