Are you a diver looking for a dream dive? This activity will leave you breathless!
Theisland of Pianosa is a protected area within the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. Inhabited by less than twenty people and used as a place of detention since the times of the ancient Romans, at the end of the 19th century it housed a maximum security prison, which remained active until a few years ago. For these reasons, the waters around the island have always been sparsely trafficked and today are almost untouched, giving the opportunity to come into contact with a wide variety of marine species.
Scuba diving around Pianosa is a unique experience that offers the best of the Mediterranean Sea and thrills usually reserved for divers in tropical seas.
If you are a fan of the seabed, this is an activity not to be missed. We propose anexcursion with lunch included and two dives, under the careful guidance of our certified instructors.
What we will do
We will meet at our headquarters in Procchio, on theIsland of Elba. Having handed in our tanks and donned our wetsuits, we will set off by boat to theisland of Pianosa. It will take about an hour's journey, during which the instructors will provide all the instructions to be followed during the dives. They will also tell us about the history and environmental characteristics of the places we will see, so that we can make the most of the day.
Once we arrive in the vicinity of the island, we will choose a dive spot and prepare for the dive. The dive will last about an hour and we will reach a depth of about 25 metres. After that, we will take a break to regain our energy and then a second dive will follow at a different spot. Before returning to Elba, the staff will offer us a lunch to be eaten all together on board.
The excursion lasts six and a half hours in total and is intended for divers with a licence above the Open Water or FISPAS Level I level.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an intermediate level. Good physical fitness is required.
Participation is restricted to divers holding a higher Open Water or FISPAS Level I licence.
Other information
Attention. It is important to arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the departure time.
The activity is bookable from June to September (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat) and is confirmed when there are at least 6 participants.
Times may vary slightly depending on the National Park's shifts (the exact time will be confirmed by the organiser a few days before the activity).
Wetsuits and extra equipment can be hired at the diving centre and a video of the experience can be requested.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
