Exclusive hot air balloon flight over the Sicilian Calanchi

Experience one of the most magical moments of your life by flying over the Calanchi del Cannizzola with the people you love in a hot-air balloon.

The exclusive one-hour flight will take you to admire the fascinating desert landscape of the Sicilian Calanchi and, depending on the wind direction, some inland villages such as Paternò, Grammichele and Centuripe, until you spotMount Etna!

You will be able to share these emotions with up to 4 other people of your choice, in addition to the pilot, and toast with a small refreshment at the end of the experience.

What we will do

We will meet at the designated take-off site, near Centuripe (EN). The meeting will be early in the morning or shortly before sunset to take advantage of the best thermal conditions of the day. If you and your group would like to witness the inflation of the balloon and take some souvenir photos, we advise you to arrive early.

Once the preparations are complete, you will follow a short brief ing in which you will receive the necessary information for the flight, and then board the wicker basket. On this ride through the skies of Sicily you will be accompanied by an experienced pilot, who will ensure a safe and unforgettable experience for you all.

As the hot-air balloon lifts off, you will be surrounded by the impressive landscapes of the Calanchi del Cannizzola: a scenery shaped by atmospheric agents that looks like the perfect setting for a western film. Your flight will be unique and unrepeatable, like any hot-air balloon experience, as the wind will decide the course of your journey.

Depending on the direction from which it blows, you will be able to fly over some picturesque villages in the Sicilian hinterland: such as Grammichele, an incredible hexagonal village, Paternò or Centuripe, which will appear star-shaped from above. But above all, you will be able to admireMount Etna in the distance, a sight that will leave you filled with wonder!

After about an hour's flight, it will be time for thelanding. The staff will have already prepared a breakfast or aperitif for you on site, to be enjoyed after the experience to make this moment even more special and exclusive.

After the refreshments, you will be driven back to your starting point in a pick-up truck. The total duration of the experience, including briefing, balloon flight, various transfers and refreshments, will be approximately 3 hours.

Who it is aimed at

Hot air ballooning is a suitable activity for anyone over 130 cm tall and weighing a maximum of 130 kg.

For safety reasons, pregnant women, persons with reduced mobility or injuries that prevent them from independently climbing into the wicker basket; persons with heart problems and persons who have been diving in the 24 hours prior to the flight or who have recently undergone invasive surgery are not allowed to fly.

Other information

The flight takes place from May to July and in September and October, depending on weather conditions. The landscapes that can be seen during the flight may vary, as the direction of the balloon trip depends on which way the wind is blowing.

Important: the take-off time may vary depending on the period chosen. The day before the activity, you will receive confirmation from the pilot of the exact time and location.

Breakfast includes sweet and savoury food, such as yoghurt and cappuccino, as well as typical local products. Theaperitif includes a board of typical local products and a drink of your choice. Any allergies and intolerances must be reported to the organiser in advance (you will receive contact details by e-mail with your booking confirmation).

Small objects such as smartphones and small video cameras are allowed on board.

Animals are not allowed on board the hot-air balloon.
