What if I told you that the best mozzarella. .. . is the one made by you?
In Vico Equense you can experience a real cheesemaker: enter a historic cheese factory dating back to 1920, put on your apron and bonnet and, under the expert eye of the master cheesemaker, discover how the most famous fiordilatte in the area is made from milk. First you watch, then you learn. .. and finally you put your hands to the dough.
And the finale is exactly as it should be: a tasting of the freshly made products, accompanied by other local specialities: fresh mozzarella, cheeses, but also cured meats, bread, jams and local wine.
What we will do
The appointment is at the time selected during the booking process at the historic cheese dairy in Vico Equense, where we will be welcomed by the master cheese maker.
We will put on aprons and bonnets (yes, this is also part of the ritual) and begin with a guided tour among machinery, vats and the scent of fresh milk, discovering the history of the dairy and all the steps in the process. We will observe up close how the curd is made, understand the times, gestures and secrets that transform the milk into fiordilatte.
Then it's our turn: hands washed, we change rooms and move on to the most fun part. Followed step by step by the cheesemaker, we will literally put our hands to the dough to spin and shape the mozzarella, just as it has been done for generations. This part will last about one hour.
After the work, comes the reward. We will sit down for a generous tasting with freshly made mozzarella, other cheeses from the dairy, local salami, bread, jams and wine from the area.
The experience lasts a total of about 2 hours, divided between visit, hands-on workshop and tasting.

The experience is suitable for everyone, with no age limit; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult or present signed parental authorisation.
The activity is suitable for people with motor disabilities or in wheelchairs, accompanied by a responsible person.

The experience takes place all year round, except at Christmas and Easter, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
Dogs are not admitted to the activity; they may remain in the garden outside during the experience.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
