Full description
Can you distinguish an eagle owl from an owl? And fly a buzzard? But the most important question is: do you accept the challenge of becoming a falconer for a day?
In Ciriè, in the province of Turin, a 4-hour experience awaits you in the company of different species of birds of prey and a professional falconer.
The theoretical and practical course will allow you to discover this noble art: you will witness the free flight of falcons and learn how to call owls and buzzards to your fist. It will be your baptism of the glove!
What we will do
The appointment is in Ciriè (TO), 10 minutes before the start time.
The falconer Giovanni will welcome us and introduce us to the birds of prey from his falconry school, some 50 high and low-flying falcons, owls, eagles and Harris's buzzards. We will also meet Arthur, an African white-faced owl who is the school's friendly mascot!
The first 2 hours will be devoted to theory, with an introduction to falconry, the various species of animals, their behaviour and training techniques.
After a short coffee break, we will resume the activity with the practical part for another 2 hours. We will be able to watch the free flight of the falcons, observe the falconer at work, and interact with the birds of prey first-hand.
The most exciting moment will be the baptism of the glove, during which we will learn to call Harris's owls and buzzards to the fist. We will socialise with them and pose for the inevitable photos.
At the end of the experience, before saying goodbye, we will receive a certificate of participation and a gadget as a memento of the day.
The activity will last four hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from 7 years of age. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant.
Wheelchair users can carry out the activity privately, agreeing with the falconer on the duration and modalities of the course. Contact us to check the organiser's availability.

The activity can take place all year round and is confirmed with a minimum number of 10 people.
The venue can be reached by public transport; parking is available on site.
Dogs are not allowed.
