Full description
Do you hear that sweet hum? It's the soundtrack to your next romantic getaway!
Experience a one-night stay in a cosy farmhouse in Todi, in the Umbrian countryside, and join a beekeeping experience that will lead you to discover the fascinating world of bees.
A genuine breakfast and a cheese tasting will do the rest!
What we will do
Check-in is from 14: 00 at the farm in Todi (PG). On arrival you will be welcomed by the owners of this property, an authentic country house restored with love, overlooking the green Umbrian countryside.
You will stay in a double bedroom on the first floor, furnished with traditional country furniture, restored by hand using natural materials. Inside you will find a private bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, bidet, courtesy kit, hairdryer, mosquito nets on the windows, free Wi-Fi and adjustable heating. There is also a common area with a kettle, cups and a selection of teas and herbal teas. There is no air conditioning: here you sleep like you used to, letting in the fresh country air.
You can explore the farm and meet its animals or relax in the infinity pool overlooking the valley, usually open from May to October. In the morning, breakfast (included) awaits you, prepared daily with products from the farm: homemade cakes, fresh fruit, jams and locally grown grains.
During your stay, you will participate in a beekeeping experience organised by the farm: you can choose to do this on the day of your arrival or departure, agreeing on the time at check-in. After an introduction to the world of bees and their role in the ecosystem, you will take a short walk to the apiary and settle down in the sheltered gazebo, from where you will watch the opening of a beehive and the beekeeper 's explanations on tools, methods and bee behaviour.
You will close the experience with a tasting (included) : a platter with 3 local cheeses, combined with 2 types of honey, bread, focaccia and a glass of wine. The activity will last approximately 2½ hours.
Check-out is by 10 a. m.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is intended for 2 persons over 18 years of age.
The facility has a wheelchair-accessible room, however the beekeeping activity is not suitable for people with mobility problems.
