Flat track drifting course at Misano World Circuit

Don't be afraid to get your wheels dirty! This 'flat track' drifting course will be the most exhilarating driving experience you have ever experienced. And how could it be otherwise, when the setting is the legendary Misano World Circuit?

The 4- or 8-hour course (to be chosen at the time of booking) will alternate theory and practice on a 1.2 km long dirt track. Alongside an expert instructor, you will learn to master the curves and speed for maximum fun.

What we will do

We’ll meet 15 minutes before 8. 30 am at the Misano Circuit. There, we’ll be welcomed by the instructors and get ready to experience the thrills of ‘flat track’.

We’ll start with the theory, with a classroom session lasting around 30 minutes that will cover driving dynamics, racing lines, realigning the car after a skid and other crucial aspects of drifting.

After that, we’ll move on to the practical session, the most adrenaline-fuelled part of our day. We’ll head out onto the 1. 2 km-long clay track, featuring 5 left-hand bends and 3 right-hand bends, and start to get to grips with the track by completing 2 laps alongside the instructor. Then it’ll be our turn to get behind the wheel, taking turns to drive in four sessions of five laps each (making a total of 20 laps) .

Stint by stint, we’ll learn to control the car as it drifts, managing our speed through bends and on straights to get the best performance out of it. It’ll be much more fun than driving on tarmac: it’ll feel like we’re taking part in a rally!

After a free lunch break, those who have chosen the ‘full-day’ option will return to the track at 2. 30 pm for a further four sessions of five laps each ( making a total of 40 laps) , which will allow us to consolidate what we’ve learnt. At the end of the course, we’ll hold a final briefing to answer any questions and receive our certificates, hard-earned on the track.

The course will last either 4 or 8 hours, to be chosen at the time of booking.

Who it is aimed at

To participate in this activity you must be at least 18 years old, in good health and able to drive a car.

Other information

The activity is available from March to November on the dates indicated in the calendar.

When booking, it will be possible to choose between the 'half-day' course (4 driving sessions, 20 laps in total) or the 'full-day' course (8 driving sessions, 40 laps in total) . For those who choose the 4-hour course, the activity will end around 1. 30 p. m. , while for the others it will continue in the afternoon after the lunch break. In agreement with the instructor, it will be possible to split the full-day course into 2 half-day courses, to be held on different dates.

The cars used for the course will be BMW 330, BMW 320, Mercedes CLK 320, BMW 325 E36, Jaguar S-Type or BMW 528i (in rotation, subject to availability) .

During the 8-hour course, you can organise your own lunch break by bringing a packed lunch or go to the self-service restaurant at the Misano Circuit.

Photos and videos may be taken during the activity.

Accompanying persons are welcome; dogs on a leash may also enter the circuit.
