Group balloon flight in Siena amidst hills and medieval villages

They say Siena is beautiful from every angle. But from above it becomes pure magic.

A hot-air balloon flight will take you for one hour above the medieval city, among hills and vineyards that seem to sway like a green sea. The silence of the sky, interrupted only by the breath of the burner, will be the soundtrack to one of the most beautiful views in Italy.

And the great thing is that the route of the hot-air balloon is never the same: you could be flying over Piazza del Campo and a moment later chasing the green waves of the Chianti vineyards. Because here, the only itinerary is the one decided by the wind!

What we will do

The rendezvous will be at the meeting point in Siena, chosen according to the best wind conditions.

From there the magic will begin: you can arrive about 15 minutes before the appointed time, or a little earlier to experience one of the most exciting moments of the whole experience, the inflation of the hot-air balloon. Seeing the balloon fill with air and transform into a giant colourful dome ready to rise is already a spectacle within a spectacle!

The staff will welcome us and the pilot will give us the final instructions before boarding the basket. Then the burner will ignite and... in a moment we will start to detach ourselves from the ground. We will find ourselves floating in the sky, in silence interrupted only by the breath of the fire. From up there we will be able to admire Siena with its cathedral, the Torre del Mangia and Piazza del Campo, and all around the picture postcard landscape of the Tuscan hills, with rows of vineyards and medieval villages dotting the horizon.

The flight will last about one hour: the pilot will guide the hot-air balloon in total safety, while we will let ourselves be carried away, looking lost between heaven and earth.

Finally, the time will come for thelanding, at a spot chosen by the wind. A vehicle from the organisation will be ready to take us back to the starting point.

In total, from the arrival at the take-off site to the return, we will experience about three hours.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for everyone from 6 years of age.

Pregnant women, people with cardiovascular, pulmonary or osteoporosis diseases, psychiatric disorders or with prosthetic limbs or walking problemsare not allowed to fly.

Persons weighing more than 110 kg must report this to the organiser (you will receive contact details by e-mail with your booking confirmation); for them there is an extra charge of €30 to be paid on site.

Attention! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time of the activity.

Flights take place all year round, weather permitting. The landscapes that can be seen during the flight may vary, as the direction of the balloon trip depends on the direction in which the wind is blowing.

Important: the take-off time may vary depending on the period chosen. On the day before the activity - by 6 p.m. - you will receive confirmation from the pilot of the exact time and location.

You are allowed to bring small items on board, such as smartphones and small video cameras with which you can film.

Small and medium-sized dogs are allowed on board the balloon; if you wish to bring your four-legged friend, please contact the organiser at the contact details you will receive by email with your booking confirmation.

The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport; a pick-up service from your hotel/accommodation in Siena and neighbouring towns is available on request and at an extra charge. To request this, please contact the organiser.
