Full description
No, it is not 'just' a weed! It could be strigoli, nettles or dandelion, some of the most versatile and nutritious plants in Umbria.
In the Todi countryside you will discover a world of forgotten flavours: you will learn to recognise wild herbs, understand why they are so good for you, and be surprised by nature, a generous teacher full of secrets.
All accompanied by an expert guide and crowned by a rich farmer's aperitif. A two and a half hour experience to rediscover the earth. .. one herb at a time!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time in Pesciano, a hamlet of Todi (PG), where our guide will be waiting for us, ready to introduce us to the fascinating world of wild herbs.
We will begin with a short introductory lesson in the open air, during which we will discover why these herbs are precious, what their growth periods are and how to recognise the most common types and edible flowers. We will also talk about their nutritional and medicinal properties.
We will then take a nature walk around the estate to identify, collect and understand the characteristics of the species we encounter. The harvesting part will last about one and a half hours.
Back at the base, the guide will show us how to clean and process the herbs collected. We will finish with a delicious country aperitif: local cheeses, seasonal vegetables, cold meats, herb omelette, bread and focaccia, accompanied by a glass of white or red wine.
The experience will last about 2½ hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for ages 8 and up. Children under 18 can only participate if accompanied by a responsible adult.
The activity is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility.

The activity is available from March to June and from September to November and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 2 participants.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
