Group balloon flight over Florence and Chianti

Did they tell you that to see Florence from above you have to climb Brunelleschi's Dome? Wrong.

There is an alternative that surpasses all others: climb aboard a hot-air balloon and experience a one-hour flight above Italy's most artistic city. From above you'll see red roofs, medieval palaces and theArno winding between bridges, while all around you are the Chianti hills, stretching out like an endless painting.

And the most fascinating part? No two flights are ever the same: the wind sets the course, you enjoy the spectacle.

What we will do

The appointment is at the meeting point in Florence, chosen according to the best conditions of the day.

You can arrive about 15 minutes before the scheduled time, or half an hour earlier to watch all the stages of the balloon's inflation: an evocative moment in which the balloon slowly takes shape and prepares to hover in the air.

The staff will welcome you and the pilot will give you the final instructions before boarding the basket. Then the burner will ignite and... you will start to gently lift off from the ground.

In a few moments you will find yourself suspended between 300 and 1200 metres above sea level, depending on the wind. From up there you can admire Florence from above: Brunelleschi's Dome, Giotto's Bell Tower, Ponte Vecchio and the whole expanse of red roofs. And beyond the city, the rolling hills of Chianti, with vineyards, olive groves and villages that look like something out of a painting.

The flight will last about one hour, during which the pilot will manoeuvre the hot-air balloon in total safety. All you will have to do is let yourself be carried away, looking lost among history, art and nature.

Youwill land at a spot chosen by the wind and from there an organiser's vehicle will take you back to the take-off field. In all, from the arrival at the airfield to the return, the experience will last about 3 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for everyone from 6 years of age.

Pregnant women, people with cardiovascular, pulmonary or osteoporosis diseases, psychiatric disorders or with prosthetic limbs or walking problemsare not allowed to fly.

Persons weighing more than 110 kg must report this to the organiser (you will receive contact details by e-mail with your booking confirmation); for them there is an extra charge of €30 to be paid on site.

Attention! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time of the activity.

Flights take place all year round, weather permitting. The landscapes that can be seen during the flight may vary, as the direction of the balloon trip depends on the direction in which the wind is blowing.

Important: the take-off time may vary depending on the period chosen. On the day before the activity - by 6 p.m. - you will receive confirmation from the pilot of the exact time and location.

You are allowed to bring small items on board, such as smartphones and small video cameras with which you can film.

Small and medium-sized dogs are allowed on board the balloon; if you wish to bring your four-legged friend, please contact the organiser at the contact details you will receive by email with your booking confirmation.

The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport; a pick-up service from your hotel/accommodation in Florence and neighbouring towns is available on request and at an extra charge. To request this, please contact the organiser.
