Group balloon flight from Masino Castle

The noise fades away, the ground recedes, and suddenly you’re flying over Masino Castle.

Hovering between the sky and the hills, with the Alps as your backdrop, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into a dream… except that it’s all real: you’re floating gently through the air aboard a hot-air balloon!

A one-hour flight that will feel like a moment, but will stay with you forever!

What we will do

The meeting point is near Masino Castle, in the municipality of Caravino (TO). Here we will meet the pilot and watch the hot-air balloon being inflated.

We will then have a briefing on safety and conduct, and finally take our places in the wicker basket, ready for take-off.

From the height of the hot-air balloon, we’ll admire the 19th-century Masino Castle, a FAI-protected site, set within a large park in a commanding position amongst the hills of the Canavese. On the horizon, we’ll catch a glimpse of the Serra d’Ivrea hills and, further still, the Alps and Mount Monviso.

The flight lasts approximately 1 hour and the route will be determined by the wind direction. After landing, the ground crew will drive us back to the starting point, where we will be presented with a certificate of participation as a memento of this incredible experience.

Including preparation, the briefing, the flight and travel time,the whole experience will last approximately 3 hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

Hot-air balloon flights are suitable for everyone aged 7 and over who is at least 120 cm tall. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and have their parents’ consent.

The weight limit is 110 kg; anyone weighing more than this must pay a surcharge of 50 per cent of the fare.

You cannot fly if:

• You have specific health conditions, such as heart disease, severe back problems, bone disorders, hearing impairments, or you are pregnant.
• You are unable to get in and out of the basket unaided (you need to take one or two steps and lift one leg at a time over the railing) .
• You are unable to maintain the correct position during landing, i. e. bending your knees and holding onto the handles.
• You are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

If you have any doubts, consult your specialist and, if necessary, bring us a medical certificate confirming that you are fit to fly in a hot-air balloon. It is important to dispel any doubts regarding your state of health, as this could otherwise affect your safety and that of the other passengers.

• the presence of any accompanying persons who do not fly (if they wish, they can board our vehicles or follow us in the car)
• optional balloon-selfie request (photo selfie, you can buy it before starting the experience at a cost of €20.00)
• any doubts about fitness to fly

Any bulky personal items may be left on board the ground vehicles.
