Group hot air balloon ride over Piana di Sibari

Experience the thrill of a hot-air balloon flight and admire from above the Piana di Sibari, squeezed between the Ionian Sea and the Pollino National Park: it will be a breathtaking experience!

You will fly for about 1 hour, carried by the wind in its direction and at its speed. You will feel yourself floating in the sky and, looking out of the wicker basket, you will enjoy the panoramic spectacle of the world seen from above.

What we will do

We will meet around Sibari (CS), at a point chosen by the pilot according to the wind conditions (the address will be communicated to you a few days before the activity). Generally, we fly early in the morning because the cooler temperatures offer the best conditions for flying.

We will follow the crew from the preparation stages of the hot-air balloon, see the large flame that allows the balloon to inflate, and, once on board, wait patiently for the moment when the air inside is warm enough to take off.

Once up in the air, the balloon will travel propelled by the wind, in its direction and at its speed. We will fly for about 1 hour over the Piana di Sibari, the largest plain in Calabria, nestled between the Ionian Sea and the Pollino mountains, a crossroads of cultures and a historic area of Magna Graecia.

Upon landing, we will find the ground crew waiting for us with a toast and a tasting of typical products. Finally, we will be given aflight certificate and we will be taken back to our starting point.

In total, the experience will last about 3 hours.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is easy and suitable for everyone from 8 years old and up (with a height of at least 130 cm). To fly in a hot-air balloon, you only need to be in good health. The only restrictions are for pregnant women, those suffering from serious illnesses incompatible with flying, and those with mobility problems in their lower limbs. If you are in doubt about your fitness to fly, please consult your attending physician.

Attention! Please arrive at the meeting point about half an hour before the departure time.

Important: this activity can be booked all year round, but will only be confirmed if there are at least 5 participants and weather conditions guarantee maximum safety. Should the flight not be confirmed on your requested date, the organiser will propose alternative dates.

The flight takes place in the early morning hours or at sunset to take advantage of the best currents. The day before the activity, the pilot will confirm the meeting time and give you the exact address for the rendezvous.
