The Wolf Visitor Centre is a place completely dedicated to the care and study of this fascinating predator that lives undisturbed in the woods of the Maiella National Park.
Together with expert and qualified guides, you can get to know and learn many curiosities about the wolf and discover how important this species is for theecosystem.
This guided walk is an excellent opportunity to get in touch with nature, learn more about the environment in which we live and spend a few hours in the open air with the whole family.
What we will do
The appointment is at the Wolf Visitor Centre in Popoli, in the province of Pescara. Here we will meet the guide who will accompany us on our journey through nature and animals.
Our journey into the world of the wolf will then begin. We will first visit the Wolf Visitor Centre Museum, consisting of an interesting educational exhibition on the biology and ethology of the wolf. It will also be possible to enter a room where we can listen to different types of howling.
Then we will take a nature walk on an outdoor dirt track along which it will be possible to observe ungulates (deer, fallow deer, wild boar, mouflon, roe deer...), birds of prey and wolves. The wolf area can be reached via an easy 1 km walk completely immersed in the nature of the Maiella National Park.
Guided by experienced staff, we will be safe and can fully enjoy this fantastic experience, ideal for children but fun and interesting for adults too!
The route is 2 .5 km, and lasts about 2 ½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is open to all, with no age limit. Children under 3 years participate free of charge.

The activity takes place throughout the year on the dates indicated in the calendar (up to date) and is confirmed on reaching a minimum of 2 participants.
Small dogs are allowed, provided they are carried in an appropriate backpack or pet carrier. They may accompany you throughout the tour, except in the outdoor area where there are fences.
Apicnic area with fountain (not drinkable) is available at the Wolf Visitor Centre.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
