Full description
There is a place in Italy that has inspired artists and writers: we are talking about the Gulf of Poets.
Get ready for a poetic 4-hour tour through the landscapes of Liguria: on board a Tuscan gozzo you can explore the Byron grotto, take a photo (or dozens!) of the village of Portovenere and circumnavigate the small islands of Palmaria and Tino.
Not forgetting a snack on board while listening to the stories told by the skipper. Get ready to set sail!
What we will do
We will meet in La Spezia, 15 minutes before the time indicated in the booking.
After a welcome by the skipper, we will board the Tuscan gozzo Gaia and begin our navigation that will first take us past Palmaria, to admire this small island of just 1.89 square kilometres. From here we will continue on to Tino, another small island part of the municipality of Portovenere, where we will stop for 60 minutes for a swim (in the months when temperatures permit).
From Tino, we will sail for another 30 minutes to the Byron grotto, one of the most famous places in the area, where the famous English poet drew inspiration for one of his novels: The Corsair. Here we will be able to take many souvenir photos, and then continue the tour towards Portovenere, with its picturesque village and the Church of San Pietro overlooking the sea.
Throughout the excursion we will be able to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere and history of the stops we visit, thanks to our skipper's stories. We will also be able to relax on board while sipping a glass of wine, prosecco or soft drink, accompanied by typical snacks such as focaccia or cold dishes.
Leaving Portovenere behind, we will pass the picturesque hamlets of Le Grazie and Fezzano, and return to La Spezia after a four-hour excursion.
Who it is aimed at
The excursion is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
The boat is not wheelchair accessible.
Other information
The excursion takes place every day from the end of March to the end of August, with a minimum of 5 participants.
The itinerary may vary depending on weather and sea conditions. In the colder months, bathing stops are not carried out.
In September and October , a one-day gozzo tour in the Gulf of Poets takes place.
You travel on a typical Tuscan Gaia gozzo of 6.5 m, which can accommodate up to 6 passengers, and is equipped with an awning, freshwater shower, refrigerator, bunk, sundeck and stereo system. The boat has no toilet facilities.
Food and beverages may be brought on board (for possible packed lunches). In case of food allergies or intolerances, please inform the organisers after confirmation of booking.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport; a large car park is available on site.
Dogs are not allowed.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
