Helicopter pilot for a day in the province of Pisa

You know when you were a kid and you said you wanted to be a pilot? Here, your time has come.

In Castelfranco di Sotto, in the province of Pisa, you can become a helicopter pilot for a day. Climb aboard a Robinson R22 with dual controls and test yourself under the supervision of a professional pilot, who will accompany you on this aerial adventure.

An adrenaline-pumping experience of 30 or 60 minutes (your choice when booking) to finally realise your dream!

What we will do

The appointment is at the airfield in Castelfranco di Sotto (PI), 10 minutes before the time chosen at the time of booking.

Here you will be met by the pilot who will accompany you in this exclusive experience. Before take-off, you will attend a ground briefing of about 20 minutes in which the pilot will explain the operation and characteristics of thehelicopter, a Robinson R22 with dual side-by-side controls .

You will then board the aircraft and prepare to take off from the runway. The pilot will be at your side throughout the entire experience, giving you a real flying lesson, with an explanation of the main manoeuvres. Getting your hands on the controls and flying the helicopter yourself will be the most exciting thing you have ever done!

Below you the landscape will change rapidly, depending on the direction and duration of the flight. If you choose the 30-minute experience, you can fly over Volterra, San Gimignano and part of the Chianti region or fly north towards Lucca and the lower part of the Apuan Alps.

With a 60-minute flight, on the other hand, you can go towards the Livorno coast, flying over Borgheri and back, or over the Pistoia, Prato, and Florence area, with a return flight over Chianti. During the activity you will be able to decide together with the pilot which lap to take, depending on weather conditions and available time.

What will you keep from this experience afterlanding? A flight certificate that you will receive by email a few days later as a memento of your day as a pilot.

The activity will last approximately 50 minutes in total (if you choose the 30-minute flight) or 80 minutes (if you choose the 60-minute flight).

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone from the age of 10. Minors must be authorised by a parent and accompanied to the airfield.

A maximum weight of 120 kg and a maximum height of 2 m are required to participate.

Other information

The experience is available all year round, Monday to Saturday.

Flights take place only under favourable weather conditions. In the event of bad weather and/or adverse conditions of any kind, the flight may be postponed or modified at the pilot's sole discretion.

You will be on board a Robinson R22 helicopterwith dual side-by-side controls and two seats, one for the pilot and one for the passenger.

Taking photos and videos is not permitted during this experience.

Any accompanying persons may stay at the airfield and watch the take-off and landing phases.

The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport. A car park is available on site.
