Full description

Would you like to ski on fresh snow using ahelicopter to ascend the highest peaks and then launch yourself down the snowy slopes? Today you can do so with a freeride heliskiing experience in Sestriere.

You will reach by helicopter the starting point of the best freeride routes in theUpper Susa Valley and enjoy the thrills of off-piste skiing with the assistance of an Alpine Guide who will be at your side throughout the activity.

One descent is not enough for you and you want to double or triple the fun? You can do so at the time of booking, choosing from the 1, 2 or 3 descents options.

What we will do

The meeting with the Alpine Guide is set for 9:00 a.m. at the base in Sestriere (TO). From here we will reach theSauze d'Oulx heliport by shuttle bus. Before flying off, we will have a briefing on the rules of behaviour and theuse of the safety kit (probe, shovel and avalanche transceiver, included in the participation fee) and then we will be ready to board the helicopter.

In about a 10-minute flight we will reach the starting point of several freeride routes, some of which start from Monte Terra Nera (3,100 m), Punta Ramiere (3,300 m), Punta Tre Merli (3,250 m) or Punta Marin (3,200 m). The Alpine Guide will select the most suitable one depending on the snow and weather conditions and the level of the group.

Once at altitude, it will be time to prepare for the exciting off-piste descent that will take us back down to the valley, covering an altitude difference of between 800 and 1600 m, depending on the route chosen.

In the case of a single descent, once we reach the valley we will find the shuttle that will take us back to our starting point. Otherwise we will ascend by helicopter to repeat the experience, perhaps on another route. When booking, you can choose the option of 1, 2 or 3 descents (and as many helicopter ascents).

The experience will last approximately 3 hours (varying depending on the option and route chosen).

Who it is aimed at

This activity is aimed at skiers or snowboarders who have good technique and some freeride experience. The recommended technical level for heliskiing is an International Level 3 on piste. Participation is possible from the age of 18.
