Full description

There is nothing more liberating than a half-day horseback ride with an equestrian guide. Or maybe there is, if you add the natural setting of Lake Viverone that stirs carefree childhood memories.

Yes, because Lake Viverone is where the bells of San Martino Campanaro ring out. But it is also where you will find the historic Palafitte di Azeglio, dating back to the Bronze Age.

And our last stop will be the town of Alice Castello, thus conquering another province in the saddle!

What we will do

I will be waiting for you at the selected time at the meeting point in Azeglio (TO). You will recognise me, I will be in the company of my beloved horses!

The experience will begin with a short briefing during which, as an equestrian guide, I will explain the basics of horse riding. We will then be ready to saddle up and set off along the tarmac road out of the riding stables. After a while, we will venture onto a dirt track and then into the forest.

We will be guided along the route by the pair of Loving Trees, two shrubs that join together rising to the sky in an embrace, anticipating that of the arms of the lake.

With the hills of Viverone and Anzasco on the horizon, we will ride to Lake Viverone. It is said that Piedmont's third largest lake guards a sunken village, whose bells ring when the wind blows from the Valle d'Aosta. Ringing them would be San Martino Campanaro, who kept us company during our childhood years.

Also among these waters are the Palafitte di Azeglio, an ancient pile-dwelling village dating back to the Bronze Age consisting of no less than 5,000 piles driven into the ground that have come down to us.

But we will not stop here: we will ride to Alice Castello, a municipality in the province of Vercelli, where we will cross the finish line. We will then return to the meeting point, for a total experience of four and a half hours.
