Yes, but I don’t have much time – just an hour or so – so let’s have an aperitif in the Upper Town.
Here’s a better way to spend some time with friends in the province of Bergamo: our horse ride in Calcinate! Accompanied by an equestrian guide, you’ll ride through the natural scenery of the Serio Park and, depending on how much time you have, you might even make it to Malpaga Castle.
A 1-hour, 2-hour or 3-hour experience that’ll make you forget all about Spritz!
What we will do
Please arrive 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Calcinate (BG). Once there, we’ll meet the riding guide who’ll be accompanying us on this adventure!
Once all participants have gathered, we’ll be given our equipment and our horses will be allocated. We’ll then mount up, learn the basics of horse riding and all the information we need to ensure a worry-free experience. This part takes about 10 minutes.
And now we’re ready for our horse ride:
- 1 hour: we’ll venture out around the riding centre, riding through the Bergamo countryside.
- 2 hours: we’ll venture out into the Bergamo countryside until we reach Malpaga Castle, where we can take a souvenir photo.
- 3 hours: we’ll ride through the Bergamo countryside until we reach the River Serio; we’ll wade into the water, cross the river and continue our ride on the other bank. Along the way, we’ll also see Malpaga Castle.
We will then return to the meeting point. The experience lasts a total of 1 hour, 2 hours or 3 hours, depending on the option selected.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for those aged 14 and over. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied to the meeting point by an adult or have equivalent authorisation.
A maximum weight of 100 kg is required to take part.
The experience is easy and ideal as a first horse ride. The guide leads the way on horseback. If there are beginners, the ride takes place at a walk; if there are experienced riders, it is possible to request other gaits at the guide’s discretion.
Other information
The experience takes place all year round and is confirmed once the minimum number of 3 participants has been reached.
Dogs are allowed but will remain at the riding school whilst the experience is taking place: please contact the guide using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email to let them know your four-legged friend will be joining you.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
