These olive trees are older than you.
Join our horse ride in Castellana Grotte: accompanied by an equestrian guide, you’ll ride through the characteristic Apulian countryside, amongst centuries-old olive trees and places of historical interest.
An experience lasting over an hour, exploring this corner of Puglia!
What we will do
Please arrive 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Castellana Grotte (BA). Once there, we’ll meet the riding guide who’ll be accompanying us on this adventure!
Once all participants have gathered, we’ll be given our equipment and assigned our horses. We’ll then mount up, learn the basics of horse riding and receive all the information we need to ensure a worry-free experience. This part takes about 15 minutes.
And now we’re ready for our horse ride: we’ll venture into a centuries-old olive grove, pass by points of historical interest such as a church and an ancient ice house, and finally head into the woods.
At the end of the horse ride, we’ll return to the meeting point. The experience lasts a total of about one and a half hours.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for those aged 10 and over. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult to the meeting point.
To take part, you must weigh no more than 110 kg.
The experience is easy and ideal as a first horse ride. The riding guide leads the group on foot or on horseback, as they see fit. The ride takes place at a walk; experienced riders may ask to ride at a trot, subject to the guide’s discretion.

The experience takes place all year round.
Dogs are not permitted.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport. A shuttle service is available from the centre of Castellana Grotte at a cost of €5. 00 per person: please contact the guide using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email for further information and to book the service.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
