Full description

Embark on an unforgettable horseback ride along the Cammino di San Bartolomeo, a historical and naturalistic route that links the places of worship between Emilia and Tuscany.

From Fiumalbo, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, you will ride through a beech forest toAbetone, enjoying the breathtaking panorama of Mount Cimone. You will then stop at the Casetta di Lapo refuge at Abetone, where a tasty typical lunch will be waiting for you.

Don't miss the opportunity to discover a land rich in history and natural beauty and to savour traditional dishes. We are waiting for you!

What we will do

The meeting point is at the riding school in Fiumalbo (MO), a charming village at the foot of Mount Cimone. After meeting the guides and horses, we will have a quick briefing to go over horse handling techniques and set off on our walk.

We will ride along the paths that pilgrims have trod since the Middle Ages, the famous St Bartholomew's Way. After an initial uphill stretch, we will see the village of Fiumalbo from above and enjoy the spectacular panorama of Mount Cimone.

We will then cross a beautiful beech forest , gradually climbing up toAbetone, the most important pass in the entire Apennines.

Towards lunchtime, we will stop at the Casetta di Lapo refuge at Abetone, a characteristic mountain hut on the Libro Aperto mountain. Here we will have lunch with a sausage sandwich or with wild boar and polenta or other home-made dishes (the menu is to be chosen when booking).

After lunch, we will set off on our return journey. The experience lasts a total of 5 hours, but could be longer depending on the pace and length of lunch.
