Full description
Enjoy anexcursion onhorseback along the Roman coastline, starting from the Monti della Tolfa and ending at the Santa Severa Castle in Santa Marinella.
Together with an equestrian guide, you will discover the characteristics of an area where nature and biodiversity are preserved in every aspect and spend a day on horseback in perfect country style.
The activity includes an aperitif with zero-km products and a bivouac lunch on the beach. What are you waiting for to saddle up? We are waiting for you!
What we will do
We will meet at 9.30 am at the Pian della Carlotta ranch in Cerveteri, just over 1 hour from Rome. The equestrian guides will welcome us and give an introductory briefing on the activity, introducing us to the area and our companions in adventure: splendid horses bred without horses hoes and using natural methods.
Thehorse riding excursion will begin in the Monti della Tolfa district, a protected natural area rich in animal and plant species and pastures where cattle live in the wild. We will ride along nature trails in the direction of the sea, which we will begin to glimpse from the top of the mountains.
Before leaving the Monti della Tolfa area, we will make a stop to enjoy an aperitif based on zero-kilometre products such as preserves, jams, sottolio, crostino with wild herb sauce, cheese and local wine.
Continuing on, we will reach the beach of Santa Marinella, enjoying a ride along the seashore to the Santa Severa Castle, where we will stop for a bivouac lunch of homemade bread sandwiches, stuffed with vegetables and omelette or cheese.
In the afternoon, we will continue our horseback trail back to the mountains, arriving at the ranch around 16:30. In total, we will cover about 20 km on horseback.
