Full description
Sometimes you feel the strong call of nature and the need to disconnect from everyday life and treat yourself to a special day. Anexcursion on horseback in the woods is perfect for such occasions.
In the company of environmental equestrian guides you will experience a day of relaxation, sport, nature and traditions, riding along the woodland paths in the Ellero Valley, in the province of Cuneo.
You will visit an area little travelled by tourism, yet of uncontaminated beauty, where it is still possible to breathe in the intense odours of nature and move undisturbed among flowering meadows, streams and karst peaks.
What we will do
We will meet at 9 a.m. in Lurisia Terme, a hamlet of Roccaforte Mondovì, in the province of Cuneo. We will meet the equestrian guides and after a briefing we will mount our horses to set off along the woodland paths. The first part of the route involves an ascent of about an hour, and then a descent along stretches of medium difficulty that will take us into the heart of the Ellero Valley.
The Ellero Valley belongs to the territory of the Maritime Alps, and is a little-visited place of great natural beauty. It is the junction of several routes that connect Piedmont with Liguria, as far as the sea, and is surrounded by mountain peaks of karstic origin.
After visiting the valley far and wide, we will stop at a typical restaurant for lunch based on local specialities (included in the participation fee). We will satisfy the palate with traditional Piedmontese hors d'oeuvres, forest mushrooms, local cheeses and the typical agnolotti del 'plin', stuffed with meat.
We will have lunch at our leisure and then take the road back, stopping at Prea, a delightful Occitan village, and the Pian del Lupo viewpoint. The return to Lurisia Terme is scheduled for 5 p.m., after a distance of about 20 km.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an intermediate level and is reserved for those who already have a minimum of riding experience. Good physical condition and a minimum age of 14 years are required.
To participate in this activity, the maximum weight is 100 kg; if you weigh 80 kg or more, please contact the organiser at the contact details given in your booking confirmation e-mail to communicate your weight.

The activity is bookable from May to November and is confirmed when there are at least 2 participants.
If you are vegetarian/vegan or suffer from food intolerances, indicate this to the guide after booking and we will devise a menu suited to your needs.
The equestrian centre provides helmets for those who do not have them (ask the guide after booking).

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
