Full description
Would you like to discover a corner of unspoilt nature, hidden among the peaks of the Aosta Valley Alps? With this one-day horseback excursion, you can reach the magnificent Vallone di Vertosan!
In the saddle of your horse and in the company of an equestrian guide, you will ascend mountain paths offering breathtaking views.
A little-trodden itinerary, ideal for those who want to escape the city chaos and regenerate in nature!
What we will do
The meeting point is 20 minutes before 9 a.m. at the equestrian centre in Vetan, a hamlet of Saint Pierre, a beautiful municipality not far from Aosta. We will be welcomed by instructors and accompanying equestrian tourism guides, qualified and ready to introduce us to the joys of riding.
After that, we will have a briefing of about 15 minutes to prepare the horses, explain safety rules and go over the basics of horse riding.
When we are ready, we will set off in the direction of the Vallone di Vertosan, a green esplanade furrowed by a stream and enclosed by mountains. It is a corner of nature little frequented by tourists: its forests are home to deer, roe deer and chamois, while on its meadows we often encounter shepherds taking their cattle out to graze.
We will explore the valley far and wide and then head to the Grand Baou Restaurant for lunch, where we can refresh ourselves for about 1 hour(lunch is not included in the participation fee and those who prefer can have a packed meal).
Finally, we will get back in the saddle and return to our starting point, ending the experience with a moment dedicated to looking after the horses. The activity will last a total of about 8 hours, of which at least 6 hours will be spent on horseback.
