Full description

The horse has always been an ideal adventure companion for man. If you do not know this, you can discover it with this high-altitude excursion that will will take you to the Refuge Mont Fallère, one of the most suggestive corners of the Valle d'Aosta Valley.

Three hours of riding in the wilderness, amidst coniferous forests, mountain paths and a magnificent view of the snow-covered peaks of the Aosta Valley Alps.

An experience that will reconcile you with the world and cleanse you from the stress and frenzy of daily life, immersing you in the peace of an uncontaminated environment. pristine environment.

Grab the reins and jump in the saddle, here we go!

What we will do

We will meet at 10 a.m . at the riding stables in Vetan, a hamlet of Saint Pierre, a characteristic village in the province of Aosta. We will be welcomed by the equestrian guides who will take us on a tour of the estate and get to know the horses in their everyday environment: a pasture all to themselves, with a panoramic view of the mountains!

Prior to departure, the instructors will assess the level and riding ability of each participant, to ensure that everyone can enjoy the activity with the maximum degree of safety. The route we are going to take is also suitable for inexperienced riders, but a minimum of skill in the saddle is still required.

When we are ready and with our feet firmly in the stirrups, we will take one of the paths that climbs up the mountains from the riding stables, heading for the Mont Fallère refuge, considered by many to be the most beautiful in the entire Aosta Valley.

We will reach the hut via an easy but slightly technical route, which is also useful for gaining confidence with the animal by becoming more familiar with its handling.

Once we reach our destination, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a lunch based on typical local specialities, produced entirely by local farmers and breeders (lunch is not included in the price; alternatively, it is possible to eat a packed meal).

Sated and rested, we will set off on horseback for the second part of the excursion, during which we can visit one of the area's alpine lakes or ride to some panoramic viewpoints over the surrounding peaks. We may also reach the summit of Mont Fallère (3,061 m) on foot, but this will depend on how much time we have left and, of course, on the preferences of the group.

In all, the activity will last about 5 hours, of which 3 hours will be horseback riding. On our return to Vetan, we will be able to discover the main activities of the stables by observing the owners at worktending horses and cattle and processing the milk used to produce Fontina AOC.
