So much for'Salento, lu sule, lu mare, lu ientu': today we add lu cavaddhu!
Join us for a one-hour horseback ride in the Cesine Nature Reserve. In the company of an equestrian guide, you will have the opportunity to explore this wonderful reserve, a WWF oasis, and to ride on the beach at San Cataldo.
An adventure suitable for the whole family, to get your fill of good air!
What we will do
The appointment is at the riding school in San Cataldo (LE), where the guide will be waiting for us. Before climbing into the saddle, we will have an introductory briefing of about 10 minutes during which the equestrian guide will explain how to ride and how to behave during the horseback ride.
Once the theoretical part is over, we will put on our helmets and mount the saddle. The guide will accompany us through the first movements on horseback, showing us how to communicate with the animal to direct and stop it safely.
At this point we will be ready to start the excursion! We will ride through the Cesine Nature Reserve, an oasis of 348 hectares of land characterised by a veritable treasure trove of biodiversity, from Aleppo pine forests to temporary ponds and holm oak groves.
We will ride at a leisurely pace to the Marina di San Cataldo, where we will descend to the shoreline or the dunes (depending on the time of year) for a truly spectacular stretch of sea-view promenade . We will then return to the stables, crossing the nature reserve again.
The walk is a 5 km loop and takes about an hour in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable from 2 years of age. Children aged 2 to 5 years participate free of charge on the same horse as the parent; children aged 6 to 14 years ride independently but will be led on the longhorn by the equestrian guide.
A maximum weight of 100 kg is required to participate.
The experience is of an easy level and suitable as a first horse ride.
Other information
The walk takes place all year round, with the exception of Christmas and New Year's Day.
From 15 June to 15 September, you cannot ride down to the beach to the shoreline, but you do ride for a stretch overlooking the sea in the dune area behind the beach.
The riding is American style.
The riding stables can be reached by car. Public transport stops about one kilometre away.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
