Full description
Embark on a journey into the past, and not just because you will be riding a horse.
You will reach the Palafitte di Azeglio, an ancient village dating back to the Bronze Age on Lake Viverone. These and other attractions await you during our 1-hour walk around Azeglio.
And then return to the present, to the stables of our equestrian guide!
What we will do
I will be waiting for you at the selected time at the meeting point in Azeglio (TO). You will recognise me, I will be in the company of my beloved horses!
The experience will begin with a short briefing during which, as an equestrian guide, I will explain the basics of horse riding. We will then be ready to saddle up and set off along the tarmac road out of the riding stables. After a while, we will venture onto a dirt track and then into the forest, inhabited by the Loving Trees: along the way, we will encounter these two shrubs rising up to the sky, almost as if they were embracing!
Accompanied on the horizon by the hills of Viverone, Alice Castello and Anzasco, we will arrive at Lake Viverone, where the Palafitte di Azeglio are located. We will come face to face with an ancient pile-dwelling village dating back to the Bronze Age, consisting of no less than 5,000 piles driven into the ground that have come down to us.
We will then return to the meeting point, for a total experience of 1 hour.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from the age of 16.
The weight limit for participation is a maximum of 90 kg.
A minimum of horse riding experience is required, e.g. having already done at least 1-2 rides or taken riding lessons. Please contact the organiser at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to let them know your level of experience.
Other information
The experience is available from January to December, weather permitting.
Attention! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time.
Before the start of the activity, participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver.
Would you like to add an aperitif to the experience? Contact the organiser at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to request an additional aperitif at a cost of €15 during or at the end of the excursion. You will be given a box containing typical Azeglio products and a drink of your choice.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
