Full description
The perfect combo is not horse + prince charming. It is horse + braised beef with polenta.
In Ameno, amidst the woods of the province of Novara, a three-hour horseback riding adventure awaits you, starting at the pass and ending at the fork. First you mount the saddle, cross dirt paths and even a Roman bridge, then you sit down at the table: 3 courses of typical Piedmontese dishes, with zero-kilometre ingredients.
The best news? You don 't need experience, just a desire to relax in nature and enjoy the experience. The equestrian guide takes care of the rest. And the chef.
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time in Ameno (NO). Our equestrian guide will welcome us with a briefing of about 10 minutes to familiarise us with the equipment and horses. A helmet, harness and, if we wish, gloves (not compulsory) will be available.
Once in the saddle, we will begin our nature walk: we will ride along dirt roads and paths through the woods, past grazing flocks, hidden nooks and crannies, and the suggestive passage over an ancient Roman bridge. A true plunge into a rural, silent and authentic landscape, far from any crowds or crowded lakes.
After about 1.5 hours of horse riding adventure, we return to the stables... and this is where the second part of the experience begins: lunch! We will be guests of the Monte Oro restaurant to enjoy a three-course menu with 0 km raw materials. First course, second course, dessert, water and coffee included.
Between preparation, walk and lunch, the experience lasts a total of about 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is of an easy level and suitable for beginners from the age of 14. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied to the riding school by an adult.
Other information
The experience takes place from March to October.
There is free parking on site; the meeting point cannot be reached by public transport. The meeting point is a 10-minute walk from the car park; if necessary, a free transfer service is available on request by contacting the organiser at the contact details given in the booking confirmation e-mail.
The included lunch menu includes three courses: a first course, a second course and a dessert, accompanied by water and coffee. The raw materials are local and selected, with typical local dishes that may vary according to season and availability. Wine is not included, but can be ordered locally.
